Carson Burr, Harper North and Trudeau Gulati win AAHBN championship for PDHS

By Trudeau Gulati

On Wednesday, October 5th, the PDHS seniors competed at the Brantford Dufferin Club.

The team was crowned champions and created excitement for PDHS.

Carson Burr, a grade twelve student at PDHS went undefeated and only dropped two games the whole tournament! He has only had two appearances at the AABHN tennis championship and has won both times. His last appearance was in 2019 when he was in grade nine. This year was different as he played singles, went undefeated and is going to CWOSSA on October 28th.

Harper North, a grade eleven student at PDHS went undefeated to capture the AABHN title. North had never competed at the high school tennis tournament before due to COVID restrictions in the past. She doubted her ability to win the tournament, but because of her fierce desire to win and have fun doing so, she clinched the title and helped PDHS' seniors win the overall AABHN championship.

On Wednesday, October 12th, the PDHS junior tennis team competed at the Brantford Dufferin Club.

Trudeau Gulati, a grade 10 student at PDHS went undefeated and only dropped two games the whole tournament! Gulati won the tournament in the spring of 2022 and was eager for more this year. He had high expectations coming into the tournament but knew that others had also been training very hard and that it wouldn't be easy. Unfortunately, there is no tournament after AABHN for junior winners but Gulati and the rest of the juniors this year are looking forward to the extra competition next year.

Carson Burr and Harper North will compete at CWOSSA on Friday, October 28th.

A big thanks to Ms. Stachera who stepped in to help the two teams make this a successful year.
