Introducing The PDHS Voice

Updated: Sep 26, 2022

By Trudeau Gulati

Welcome to the PDHS Voice. This is our inaugural multimedia, arts, and newszine to tell our school story throughout the year. Our mission is really what you make it. We want your ideas and artwork, and computing skills to provide fresh new ideas. We are a new group, and we plan to start publishing a condensed print version in October. We will begin posting online in September. The goal is to build back the physical newspaper that the town of Paris used to have until a few years ago in the Paris Star. Starting an arts collective and newszine at our high school aims to capture students’ creativity and ideas into an organized blend that showcases our diversity.

September is fun and stressful, but most of us look forward to it by the end of August. What feels like the most conventional year ahead of us in a long time feels like the perfect time to start covering stories of the events that will be the Important focus of our lives this year. We need to be the voice in our community! As students, we can change our community through our agents and artwork.

My vision is to share all our students and staff’s experiences at the school and how it has affected them positively and negatively. Additionally, to inform the public of events and accomplishments at our school, for example, the hype we have on our social media could be improved upon. Now that our education is returning to normal, it’s time to follow through on events we as a school want and need. It’s not just what a small portion of students want to do, but we as a collective thought. This year should be about the school reuniting and having some fun again. We must be ambitious to achieve this milestone and share our achievements and afterthoughts of how we got from start to finish. For now, let’s focus on the present and stay positive. I hope you will join us and be a part of the PDHS Voice; even if that is providing social media pictures, it helps.
